From the remote pc you should already be able to see these shared folders in order to see Icons.exe

Perform on the CS Server pc

- Windows 7 (64 bits):
o Installation main path:
 C:\Program Files (x86)\Raytek\DataTempCS\
o Configuration path:
 C:\Users\Public\Documents\DataTempCS\

Ensure that full read and write permissions are established for the 2 shared folders.

Add readscan.exe to the firewall exceptions list, Incoming and Outgoing
%ProgramFiles%\Raytek\DataTempCS\Readscan.exe

If you only want to install the CS Icon on the remote pc you can stop at this point and run Icons.exe on each remote client (run as an Administrator and uncheck CSConfig).

For running DBCheck or CSConfig please follow the following on the Server PC)

Add sqlserver.exe to the advanced firewall exceptions list, Incoming and Outgoing
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.RAYTEK\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe

Add port 1433 to the advanced firewall exceptions list, Incoming and Outgoing.

In the SQL configuration manager ensure that <Named Pipes> and <TCP/IP> should be enabled and under TCP/IP properties the second tab under IPAll (last option) that port 1433 is added.

From the first client pc:

RUn all programs from the remote pc as an Administator (in case of no being logged in).

If you run DBCheck.exe and you cannot see a profile then something wrong with the share. You should be able simply see the standard profile and then add to the profile in column <Data origin> (without spaces ,1433).

With all of the above done, when you run the Test icon at the lower left of the screen you will have an immediate response.

Run Icons.exe. Please understand that if you choose to also place a Config icon on the desktop of the remote client you can make changes to the configuration but you will also need to reopen COnfig on the server on update READSCAN. My recommendation is to only install the CS shortcut and configure the system only via the server pc.

I have tested this method today, using W7 for the server pc and Windows 10 for the client.
